Hear us roar! UM Birmingham and Cannes Young Lions 2024

Three teams and one judge from UM Birmingham will be taking part in this year’s Cannes Young Lions UK in the ‘media’ category.

The teams will have just two days to craft a response to a brief, due to be shared on Friday 1st March. The UK competition is running via Advertising Association.

The teams comprise:

  • Deepika Kaur, Media Manager, and Caitlin Wilson, Global Media Manager
  • Tom Hartigan, PPC Account Manager, and Sanjana Sriramachandran, Senior Data and Insights Manager
  • Sarah Clarke, Strategy Director, and Edith Andrei, Junior Strategist (McCann Birmingham)

The champions of the UK leg of the competition will go into the Global Young Lions Competition, taking place from June 17th to 21st. Finalists will also score a package including a golden ticket for the entire festival week, covered travel expenses, and accommodation in Cannes.

Nicola Daniel, Managing Partner at UM Birmingham, will also be taking part in the competition as a judge. Nicola said, “this is my third time judging the UK Young Lions and every year I’m blown away by the creativity, innovation and talent. It’s fantastic to see so many of our own team entering this year.”

Ruepal Aujla and Lisa Barrett, Joint Heads of Media, added “Young Lions is a brilliant competition which highlights the best of the best. We wish the teams the best of luck and know they’ll create some amazing and insightful responses to the brief!”
